winch remote died!!

Help[ needed please. Winchmax 12500. After a 2 hour under (muddy) water soaking the wireless remote operation of my winch has died. The plug-in hand controller works the winch fine. The wireless remotes never got wet and the led lights up when buttons pressed. Any ideas welcome.

if its one of those cheap chinese crap ones of fleabay from someone like winchit they are ****e and prone to failing all the time
