Or will i have to mod the bodywork in anyway?
I have 750's on at the moment, but they are old, knackerd and cracked, so i was toying with the idea of bigger tyre's.
I think the 750's are 30"....any one know what size the 900 is?

these are 900 bar grips off a 101 fc :D ther too big really, and yer steering locks pointless, just foreward and back wards moves :D:D good off road tho
they hit the chassis before yer get to half a turn. yer might need spacers, arch spats and the like, is it worth it?

but they are amazing :), i want some :) along with extended shackles for my 109 :)
Paddocks sell the extened shackles....cheap as chips.

Mine is an ex military landie, so they are already fitted :D
I want bigger tyres, and am also thinking of a set of parabolics, as i plan to use the 109 for off road.

I've got 9.00x16 on my 88" series III.

Mods req'd:
Adjust steering stops.
1 Ton Shackles ( Paddocks kit)
Trimmed front wings
Trimmed back of front bumper
removed cross braces under rear tub
slight trim to inside of rear arch
extended bumpstops

Mine are Michelin 9.00x 16 XL on snatch Land Rover rims (tubeless)
Measured at 36.5" tall. Bought from Vass in Ampthill.

They will effect your gearing and make sure your brakes and engine are up to it, they're big and heavy, take a lot to get them rolling and a lot to stop them.

Are they worth it, you bet.

try the 900 club google it on 109's its really not that hard especially if you already have a military chassis with extended shackels and the cut out on the gearbox x member for the propshaft.

I likes big tyre's me :D
Here's a pic of my old hybrid....fo0kin laugh's i had in that ;)
How much am i looking at for a set of 900's??

I bought mine as did jai from Vass in Ampthill: Snatch Rims £20 +VAT. Michelin 9.00x16 £40-£80 +VAT each depending on how worn they are. I went for ones at £60 each, hardly worn at all. They fitted them for free.

The 1 ton 109" Land-Rovers were fitted with 9.00 x 16 tyres as standard. As far as I know the military 109" Land-Rovers used the same chassis as the 1 ton so I'd guess the 9.00 x 16 tyres would go on without any chassis, suspension or bodywork mods. The 1 ton Land-Rovers did have a lower ratio transfer box to compensate for the taller tyres and higher payload, but I have a feeling the military 109s have a normal transfer box to match the 7.50 x 16 tyres, so they might end up being a bit overgeared on 9.00 x 16s.
