Why is the for sale section restricted?

I appreciate why you might want to stop people joining this site just to flog stuff  but what about those of us who want a Landy fan to buy our beloved landy and to keep these things going just that little bit longer

I am one of those who would like to see the V8 go to a good home and be cared for but I guess unless I can post another 50 threads quickly it is not to be :( and I will have to shove it on trader or ebuy.

Don't get me wrong, the forum is great and I appreciate the help and advice in getting my TD5 back to health (and I am sure I will need more) but come on lets be sensible about this

I intend to stick around too and hopefully will be able to provide some help to someone else sometime ;)

Anyway that's one more towards my quota :D

Could've got 3 posts outta that

Because it gets real old having a constant stream of one-time posters treating this place like some sort of Landy Fleabay.....Strangers selling to strangers too often are just after what they can get and can a little 'economical' with the truth.

Much nicer buying and selling in a community where everyone knows each other....or knows someone that does

Dunno. I'm new here but it seems fair to me. System over on the UKGSer forums, which are kind of the motorcycling equivalent and which I know much better, is that only subscribed members can post or reply in the ads section. Costs £15 a year. Most seem happy with that. I think both systems are fair as, in both cases, I suspect the forums would be flooded by traders otherwise and (and I can only speak for the UKGSer board here but i suspect this one's the same) it's nice to know that those for sale areas are bastions of honesty on the internet, rather than the usual risky free-for-all.

Why not have a free for sale section for over 50 posts but a £20 donation via paypal for posters with less than 50 posts.

That way when the brown stuff hits the fan, the seller could be traced via their paypal account

Unless they have a fake paypal account.

But least the forum makes money :)

Start an argument, that its impossible to win or lose, but that will guarantee to divide the entire community....
and sit and chip in with " hmmm yes, good point "
at every polarised comment, and i'll bet you're well over 50 within 2 hrs.

the more contentious you can make it the better it is....

and you'll get a feckin good hoot into the bargain

everyones a winner baby, said Errol brown ;)
