..... some sort of valve to physically cut the engine before it has a chance to aspirate water and hydrolock?
Maybe some sort of float set at right-angles to the air intake which could float upwards with the water level until it cuts the air supply altogether just before water is aspirated into the cylinders....
...or something based on the toilet cistern valve/lever arrangement to do the same job.
I reckon this might save quite a bit of aggro.
What do you reckon?
