Hi im looking to fit some better seats in my series 3, it has metro ones at the moment and they're bloody awful.

Any ideas or seats to avoid ect? just something comfy would be good

thanks for the help

I also have Astra GTE seats in mine - they are superb. Paid £20 for a mint set.

(p.s the higher spec cars such as the Astra Sri/GTE /cav Sri of that era had those nice Recaros, opens up your options a bit)

I prefer traditional Land Rover old-fashioned seats. Personally I think car seats and the like look a bit daft, plus they minimise legroom.

Got Disco 1 seats in mine - £12 for the pair, work a treat - and have the useful handle thing at the top for the harness to come through!

Yeah they don't look traditional, but then then that's not what my vehicle is about - if it was completely standard then it would not get used what it gets used for now. To me Land Rovers are best when they are modified to suit the purpose. I would not want to do thousands of miles in a few weeks on standard type seats, weather they are the "Deluxe" ones or not.

My mate is just over 6 foot and legroom is not a problem in the slightest.

the whole attraction for landrover's to me, is that they can be modified so easily

the local wreckers yard doesn't share my enthusiasm, today they said I "didn't know what I was getting myself into" and treated me like a nobody because the vehicle was "old"

I think I have worked on vehicles (including Landrovers) enough to know what im getting into.

as for seats I can't help there

I have some rear Range Rover seats that have been modified to fit the front of a series going spare, the best bit about them is that they have a armrest! you can have them for nothing.

Had some KAB industrial seats in the last Landy I had on the road, but I think the best I've seen fitted were a set of black leather seats from an MR2. I looked around for a set but they mostly change hands for proper money. I ended up with some leather seats from a Volvo coupe in the current project which are exceedingly comfy but there's not enough room for a 3rd seat in the front.
