Which Freelander

there is no SWB or LWB freelander, they are the same, only a 3 door or a five door. My V5 did say SWB on it though, but it was wrong.

do you drive them, and how often ?

your comment about EFAD training is contradictory

Yes I do, as I mentioned and whenever needed. Not for probably a month but prior to that it was a lot, both on and off road.

Huh? How? I was saying , tongue in cheek, that the ERD training (EFAD shouldn't exist any more!) was more about getting there, because of how the the defenders handle on the road.

For anyone who missed the point, ERD (blue light to most) is about making safe progress, driving to arrive and so on.

Now then, back to business, I need two tyres for my 215/65/16 rears for the winter, whats the recommended based on experience recommendation?

Have just replaced two Michelin with Pirelli Scorpion STR's @ £98 each. Cannot tell any difference in use.
My son has done the same with 17" tyres and says the STR's are noisier.
Hope this helps.

Above price was one year ago, tyre prices are now higher and moving up.

Reason why there are many defender/disco drivers in the freelander area is cos they are closet cases :)

Advise a td4 with egr/crankcase sorted out promptly.

Thanks for that. I've decided to stay with Michelins, I'll probably regret it at some point if I ever get invited to check out low life accommodation in Scandinavia however for UK roads I reckon I'll be ok.

£106 fitted not too punishing.

yes i snipped most of that out as people can read it above, exactly what i was thinking, i don't mean extreme off roading like that people in disco's who try to go through 4 foot of mud and get stuck, more along the lines of green laning with other Freelander owners, at least then i know it is freelander friendly (well kind of) or off roading where freelanders go on a regular basis
What Freelanders can do off road = Bala 4x4 Land Rover Freelander 1 v6 Off Road

Get some extra protection under the engine - plastic in the standard fit tray is crap. Choose where you drive carefully, and you'll be ok. Auto is the best for off road. Diesels are the best engine to have in Freelander.

And to all the trattor boys, feck orf.

T'is not gonna help your cause when ya get stuck:doh:
Good point. But they will insist on trying to spoil the Freelander section. A bit of banter is ok. Constant ****e when someone's asking for help is a bit too far. We don't **** on the trattor forum threads like they do on the Freelander section.
