hi guys unsure about what to do i want range rover p38 but im told they are troublesome and require a nice amount of cash for the day it goes wrong.
failing this i like the clasic's and the defenders but what one and why?
im told a 200/300 series tdi would be the better engine and im finding the defender holds the money so im thinking unless i fall on a cheap 90/110 a classic range rover is the one.
what is a more relaible one though? a lpg one or a tdi. i work in the motor trade as a technician and the guys i work with say steer clear of lpg as irs a bodge etc.
any advise will be great cheers.
oh i also have an 8 month old baby to consider as the car will be my ebery day motor.

Whilst I 'might' agree wiv Daft, I will sue if I end up as anuvva scalp on his fekin sig...............but yer can pick a good 200 or 300 TDi Disco for relatively peanuts & while they wun't hold the little value they have like a Defender, they are capable, comfortable & fairly easy to fix.

By the sounds of it a discovery is a good option. But........

If you are a technician in the motor trade it would make sense for you to buy a taxed and tested defender wreck nice and cheap and gradually do it up so it's like a constant rolling restoration. Defender parts are cheap and as long as you aren't paying for the labour It will be worth more than it cost to buy and maintain when you come to sell it.

If you keep a good eye out you can find one for around 2-2.5k. A p38 would set him back more than 3.5k anyway.

A 200TDi Defender @ 2/2.5K is going to be on it's last legs. Fair enuff, bargains come up.........but rarely & they usually int such a bargain, there's usually a reason why they are cheap.

Discos are stupidly cheap & you can get a lot of spec for stuff all. Few well chosen doo dads and they're as capable as anything else & you're going to be less precious about something that owes you so little.

based on that what would you say if im off to look at a g plate landy 90,2.5 bdiesel non turbo, tax & mot'd white 120,000miles @ £1000?
seem to cheap?
my uncle owned a 110 then a disco and then went back to a 90 as says they less trouble and are easyer to work on.
