I dunno if it is just me, but apart from one or two groups, there seems to have been a distinct lack of enthusiasm for laning trips over the last year or so.

What happened to the Tossers trips, most seem to have either sold their motors or not been around. The Sluts seem to have organised next to no trips this year. What happened to the Tossers BBQ's, the "Chippy" run? The Bi-monthly Herts meet organised by Carpy (He's gorn too), the Surrey monthly pub meet? the Surrey summer??? BBQ?

I dont think Grippa or Si has been laning for over a year, HB & Mondo have sold their motors, Patman and Clivees have all but disappeared, as have DV & Boomer. Even Ratty, RobinT and S71 seem to have curtailed their trips. I know Buckshot & Pikey still go out, but with noo found friends. Is Drew still alive? (I know he is, but when did he last post?).
G & I have made a lot of noo friends thru here, but there seems to be a general air of apathy... or is it we have just moved on, "grown up", have other interests now?

Im just waiting for the rain to get heavy, I dont particularly enjoy going out when the ground is rock solid...

as soon as we have proper rain I'll probably be out on the plains every weekend :D

No money, constant colds and other kids illness's, weekends spent just recovering, weekday evenings got too many things on. Basically run out of time, money and entusiasm for anything sadly.

I go laning monthly, just trying to build up the confidence to offer to organise one on here :) And it does seem Muddy Gonzo runs trips on all the routes i'm familiar with.

I still have the enthusiasm it's just the lack of time, money, energy etc.

We are running short staffed at work so I'm working the same hours but doing 2-3 times he work when we're busy. Coupled with the list of things to do I'm just not getting anywhere.

it's the same with everything i think....MONEY or lack of it, no time as trying to earn the money, we keep having people doing stoopid things like getting married at weekends, so then we can't go laning. we try and get out once a month with the club laning, and dean is taking his beast pnp days another weekend, so that's our time gone.

It's a guy who brings 3 or 4 along to Landy Shows "darn sarf". I always throw the boys in when he's there to support him and get the kids into driving sensibly... before I get them into riding offroad dirtbikes in a reckless manner :D

I'm still about, DV's still about, Drewster's still about - just not as prominent as before and certainly not advertising on here where we are and what we're doing any more.

We've been out several times over the last year with many different peeps from here but sadly there hasn't yet been an occasion when all the old 'crew' have been able to meet up at the same time which is a shame really, keep trying to get Series71 out for the day but the harvest got in the way for me last time (sorry bud)

Since the Chip Run two years ago I have only driven the route a couple of times and sadly there is evidence of possible overuse in some places, I know the lanes are there for all our enjoyment and not just a select few but I find myself feeling somewhat guilty for my involvement in the discovery of some of the 'less travelled lanes' and for making them more widely known and used.

The whole S*L*U*Ts thing was a fantastic 'journey' if you like, I was proud to have been part of it and the success that we as a group achieved - it was a victim of its own success really, I/we have learnt from it and in future groups will always be kept small, manageable and only with people you trust.

You might say that it's perhaps a classic case of 'once bitten, twice shy'.

But hey, we're all older and wiser, wounds have healed, old friendships have been rebuilt (thanks to Facebook) so maybe we old S*L*U*Ts etc ought to try and have a get together????

Oh, and lack of spare time is my main reason for being pretty much out of the loop these days - still working 60 to 80 hours/week, 48 weeks of the year.........

Rob :)

I'm always keen, but my Rangey has been broken for the past 4 weeks.

Hopefully the garage will be able to fix it one of these days - they've only had it for 8 days so far.

Definitely up for any more trips that come along:)

Guy

Apart from 2 trips to Wales and a couple of trips to the Plains earlier this year. I've been pretty quiet anorl. Lack of cash int helped either.

I was thinking of doing the chippy run this New Year but I may have to re think if it's getting beaten up.

i think I mite be casting on barren ground here - but if Boomer knows where the lanes are damaged, how about yu (pikey) and him (boomer) working together on summat. Time to start building bridges...
