Hello everyone,

I have purchased a roof rack with 4 x Wipac spots, and a 'A Bar' With 2 x 8" Wipac Spots.

I can fit them easy... but by no means am I a mechanic or an electrician. So what I ask is would I take my car to the local garage, or do I get a local electrician. To do all the wiring up.

Also... Would the garage have all necessary wiring/relays/switches etc. etc. to do the job, or would I have to supply them with the equipment.

I know all garages are different... but would the run of the mill average garage have this equipment to hand

Thanks

Rich M

Nice one... Would that kit definitely work for my 8" spots as they are 100w, They had to be 100w as 55w would not do when driving down the dirt track to my house at night. needed more light you see.

Dunno whether you care ... but I believe spots etc need to be wired to the High beam only to pass MOT. I believe a switch is OK but that the lights should only be able to come on when high beam is on too ...

I used one of the wiring packs from Halfords.
Easy to install and the instructions say they will run 4 50w lights and 2 100w.
Works a treat.

I bought 2 of them packs today, Cant seem to find the message that says about the 4 x 55w or 2 x 100w though.

Surely It wouldnt work for 4x55w or 2 x 100 as it only has a 15A fuse

220/12 = 18.333333 Amps
200/12 = 16.6666667 Amps

both of them are more than 15amps.

But if you have managed to get it to work with 4x55w or 2 x 100w please tell me

goto halfrauds and buy 3 spotlamp wiring kits and you'll have everything you need to wire in 3 pairs of fog or spotlamps

i got 3 and only 1 worked for a short time then blew out the fuse:mad:, i didn't fit for a few week and they wouldn't change them cos id lost my recite  i just added more/bigger amp relays to the one switch :D
