Ever since I let my Range Rover run out of gas, the MPG has been horrible.

It ran out during the week so I used it on petrol to get me to the station, stuck 100 litres in it and only got just over half on the gauge (I have twin tanks)

I did around 100 miles and the red light was on already so put another 43 litres in and Ive now done 180 miles in total and Im down to 1/4 tank :(

So all in all, Ive put in 143 litres (£95), done 180 miles, and will get around 80 miles more.

260 miles from 143 litres??? The 180 miles was done mailny on motorway and my trip com is sitting at 18mpg.

The LPG kit was services a few weeks back too.

Any ideas?

If you want to check for leaks on your
system use a spray bottle with a mixture of washing
Up liquid and water and spray all visable connections even the injecters
and look for bubbles. If it froths up there's a leak at that point.

Do a Google and put in 'gas sniffer' the one for £40.00 online is the one I use its the
General Tool Png2000a Natural Gas Detector Pen its the Omnitron Portable Gas Sensor 33130

Seems this might just be a dodgy gauge.
Ive run it the past two days and done another 60 miles and the gauge hasnt moved. Its even gone up a bit when cruising on a level road!!?? Currently sitting at 265 miles and floating between one and two green lights on the dsh so still over 150 miles left in it

The guages are mostly useless.

Mine reads from full down to reserve over the first 100 miles after a fill up, and then sits on reserve for next 150 miles.

Most people, myself included run it till it runs out, note the milage, and then reset the trip everytime you fill up. At least that way you know when you're nearing empty. Running out won't hurt it, it'll just go back to using petrol.

That might hurt your wallet.

My BRC system does similar...

90L tank (73 litre fill) within the first 35 miles the first of four lights goes out, then at around 100miles we're down to 2 lights.....thrid goes out at around 145miles, last light starts blinking (reserve) at around 195-200 miles and the tank valve closes at about 225-230miles.

Trip mileage is the best way to measure tank capacity.

It's in my BBQ
Oh, and my Patio heater
LPG in cars! Knightmare.
Bag of ****e, buy a diesel.
Lol
Opinions expressed are mine and cannot be held against me in a court of law as I'm insane.
Lol

How the f!ck are you guys getting that many miles on
LPG I don't get 160 miles out of 70 ltrs in my 4.0ltr

I drive like my grandma for starters - I have no need to rush I drive a Range Rover!

Also is that 70l fill or tank capacity? As you can only fill the tanks to 80% my 90l tank has a max fill of 73l

What and miss that growl.and ppl turning round
wondering what's coming. Probably needs a service to be honest

I put another £30 (45 liters) in and guage now reading full??!!

Whwn I first bought it, it was in the red so put 90lts (£60) in and it went to 3/4 so Im guestimating theres around £80 gas in the tanks

So all in Ive put in £125, sitting at 325 miles and got a full tank of gas.

I get around 200/220 miles out of a tank of LPG 72/73 ltrs, mines a 4.6 and I don't hang around.......
I would get it serviced (cost about £125 but you will get that back in LPG costs soon enough...

Echo this. I've got a 98 4.6 P38. I am a bit of a speed demon, I also tow a horse trailer around 50% of the time. I get 220-230 miles on a 73ltr fill, that's with the air con on too. I'd be booking it in for a service :) PDQ!
