Where is 16 Pin Hook up on 3.9 V8i Auto?

Hi All,
I am New to this Forum and am in need of some Help...

I took my Disco to a Garage to find out which of the ABS Sensors is playing up and showing on the Dash Board...They could Not find it,...I was told that there isnt a 16 pin plug to hook up to the machine.
So I in need of some advice.

It looks like scart socket it's just below the door to the fusebox to the left of your brake peddle above the left foot rest,

Hi Discool,
Had a look where you said and still cannot find the socket,...Incidently the engineers looked in the same place and they couldn,t find it..

My Disco is a "M" Reg 95 model,...will that make a difference as to where this hook up socket would be?

I don't think there would have been an OBD socket on that early a vehicle, it wasn't brought in until 1996 or so.

Just had a quick look through the Disco workshop manuals and cannot find any circuit references to it at all.

For the OBD system to work, it has to have an engine management system to talk to, and those early Disco's didn't have engine management per se.

I'll keep on hunting, might turn something up.

Edit1: Found a 3-pin 'ABS Diagnostics Connector' C104 in the front LH of the engine compartment.

Edit2: Found an OBDII connector, but it is not a 16-pin, it's a 9-pin C318 and located underneath the LH front seat on a flying bundle of leads. X318 and C318 are the same thing.

Many thanks Bones and Lister....

I was told that the machine that the Engineers use to sort the vehicle out actually tells them where the point to hook up to is.....obviously they didnt look on their machine at the time.

Mine is a 94 M, 300TDI. The diagnostic socket for the ABS is blue...can't remember how many pins, not 16, may be five or 6. It is under the steering wheel sort of, you get to it by opening the "door" that gets you to the fuse box

Hi All,
Try as I might I just cannot find anything that resembles the block connectors...

When I take my vehicle back in to get the tyres swapped I will show the engineers the diagrams that were so kindly sent to me by Lister Diesel.

Come to think of it, I don't think my 3.5 RRC had one.
With the disco there are three change points with the ecu wiring harnes so like the 3.5 RRC it's possible you don't have one.
And why a diagnostics connector would be installed a part of an electric seat I don't know there's no logic to that.

It does seem odd, but I've been back and checked RAVE and that's what comes up.

If its an MA - 95my car it will be a blue 4 pin plug,cant remember where it is if I remember in the morning I'll have a look at my dear mothers old bomb - its so reliable I hardly ever need to touch it.
