Morning...

Do any of you run wheel spacers??

Since i've been running the bigger tyres it just doesn't look quite right... think a set of 3cm spacers would finish the job nicely!

I'm now running 235 85 16 MT's, and i've had to adjust the steering stops so far out to stop it scrubbing... spacers would let me adust them back in correct?

Any other pros and cons?

No just No
buy some bigger offset wheels, spacers put too much strain on hub parts and have a tendancy to work themselves loose

been running them on my 200 series tdi, its on 255,70,16 all terrains. had no ill effects so far and it corners much better due to the increased track. havnt had to adjust the stops at all but iv got the spacers and 8 spokes so dont know what it would be like with standard rims?

taking mine off soon as im breaking the vehicle for my tdi conversion to 110, but iv driven it around for last few months and it drives nice but can imagine it puts extra strain on components sfter time.

Bigger offset wheels will have the same afect on wheel bearings/hub components as spacers my brothers had them on his deffender for about 2 years and has had no problems as yet

Spacers are just another item that can fail, albeit a slightly dodgy one at that.

It's kinda something you "should" avoid although lots of people use them without issues.

Thing is, you can buy a set of wheels for not much more than a set of Spacers, and it's a better option.

Check eBay, I just bought a set of -50 offset 15x10s for 225, I reckon a set of decent Spacers is the best part of 200 right??? (I think they are very overpriced too!)

anyway, all you can do is try it!

im running 30mm spacers with 2657516 special tracks the only problems ive had is half shaft bolts snapping and the wheel bearings need adjustment more often as there is more strain on them

and my wide offset wheels have the same effect anyway.

i say just make sure they are tight, and make sure they are gonna be strong enough.

i still prefer the idea of having wide offset wheels than spacers though, even if both end up wearing bearing quicker...
