Hello all,
I am looking at buying a wheel clamp to secure my Land rover as i saw on a earlier posting its a good secure method of keeping it safe.
I have had some suspicious interest in my vechile from people knocking on the door asking if its for sale.

It was suggested by one company I buy a Bulldog Centaur 2000C its a whopping £264.00, but looks good.
Th either one i found on her his the London Triangle Clamp HGV (LCC923).
I have 235x70xr16 tyres and wa stold i need a big one because its a land rover.
..I wonder if anyone has used either one of these please?....
Be grateful for any feedback

I agree the bulldog one looks meatier, it would take longer to cut through with cordless grinder through the arms than the 10mm chain on the other one, I’d be worried I forgot it was on and drove off!

Thank you for your comment,I think your right i would nee dto put it on the drivers side, just found out it weighs 20kg so it must be a beast .
I am looking at alternatives but cannot see one as most other things seem to be easily defeated.

doesn't stop them from lifting the truck away.

all these things help to deter the opportunist or encourage someone to look elsewhere but nothing is 100%

As^^^^ it seems these days if they want it they seem to think they deserve it more than the owner
But the more they have to do the more likely they are to move on, anything extra visible is good.
Wheel clamps don’t stop somebody dragging it on a trailer.
Do you park on a drive that has no side access? If so there are some pretty strong posts around to stop it being dragged out.

There is all sorts available what’s best is always a difficult choice,

There are also the trackers and secret switch’s, they all help make it as difficult as possible, and increase the chance to get it back.

I just think it’s a shame these days that we have to consider extras to keep the scum at bay:(

I was chatting to a neighbor today. He has been an alarm engineer for years. He works for the big firms like ADT an the like and agreed nothing can stop the scum.
If they want it it’ll be taken no matter what.
Just add as much as you can to make it as big a task as possible. Thieves are lazy by nature or they would work for their ****etions not help themselves to everyone elses.

Thank you all,I think I will go for a clamp and try to find a shop who sells them so I can try one out and make sure it fits. I do not want put a post in my drive a stay forgets its behind me and run in to it.The clamp I can take with me and secure it when out I thought as well.

Very yellow clamp, a diskloc on the steering works well too. Also a ground anchor and chain round the tow hitch. The biking community are big of ground anchors as it stops the bike being lifted.

Personally, I prefer locks / clamps that stop you being able to drive the car , such as gearbox clamps , pedal clamps, steering wheel clamps, thong s you cannot ge tin and sit in the driving seat and not notice.
Also , think of what you are prepared to take with you and put back on during even the shortest trips , if you want to use it?.

Cheers

Thank you.
Thats a very good point 20kg is a lot of weight and in a truck cab will limit the space, unless in bounces around in the back.I will have a look at disk loc and some alternatives first before ei buy a clamp.
