I have a 93 disco 2.5 tdi. When travelling at 55+mph, if the car goes over any bump (pothole etc) the car starts shaking real bad, i can still change gear, accleerate, and brake, and the shaking doesn't stop till the car goes below 30/35mph. Can anyone tell me whats happening and a rough idea of fix price. Don't want to get mugged off by a garage.

In my experience the swivel bearings would be definitely worth checking .
I was asked to check over a 300 Tdi which was acting much like yours .
Adjusting the swivel bearings properly made a huge improvment.
Would also go along with kev and redhand - a small amount of play in a few joints can add up to a lot of slack .
You could disconnect one end of steering damper ( I presume a 93 had one ) and see if it offers even resistance throughout its range of travel .
