HI,
The book says,

Gear oil 2 litres of Texaco MTF94 or Unipart ATF JF 403E

IRD 1.1 LITRES, Texaco S5 75W/90- SPEC API GL5

Rear diff 0.83 Litres, 80W/90 SPEC API GL5

Got all of my oil from the local bullseye if you have one near you, they kmew what i wanted and had it in stock.

Cheers.

many thanks u 2,ive no idea what mtf94 is though,i will see if theres an equivalent at my factors/halfords,if not i will have to hunt some down, one more thing do you know the coolant and engine oil capacity, sorry to ask but series 3 and disco i new most things but this is my first freelander and not got any manuals yet, cheers

Engine oil is 4.5 litres and cooling system 5.5 litres.
you will only get about 3 to 4 litres of coolant in the car as a lot gets left after draining, its very hard to get it all out.

In the haynes manual it says to use texaco mtf94 or burmah oil mtf1067,and 10w/40 for topping up the manual gearbox oil. That didn't sound right to me so I rang the dealers, spoke to a mechanic there he reckoned I should use 75w80 or 75w90 semi synthetic.

I think MTF stands for manual transmission fluid.

ive looked on ebay and there is another company which sells mtf94 gear oil and it says for landrover gearboxes,im sure my local factors has the same make so hopefully they can get me some.

Please don't do what my friend did, he bought 5 litres of lawnmower oil of ebay, he thought it said landrover oil
