What do i do next? brought at2s de egrd middle box replaced with stainless steel straight through, saw a thread last week and it was mentioned that at 70 mph his d2 td5 was reving at 2800 or there abouts mine revs at 2500 ive had it at 115mph so i have to assume its been doctored at some point. thing is i want to fit recovery eyes on the front but having a spoiler cant see how?as there isnt many after market bits for d2 PS i always say thanks

That is brave in a old disco i must admit, saying that i took a 2.5td defender to its max (85mph) that was scary with a 2" lift kit and no caster correction arms it wallowed like a c**t.

Mines a 2000 es air susspension 18 inch rims and all in order not an old d1, the reason i want recovery eyes is when i get stuck laning i dont want to wreck it ,ive seen urban panzers site and he has a good a bar with recovery eyes but being as i cant find one i was looking for an alternative

PS some land rovers are well maintained

I tnink your going to struggle with chassis mounted recovery points on the D2 if you plan on keeping the original bumper.

I have seen some that bolt through the front chassis mounts, but they are basically just dropper plates with an eye in.

I,m sure if they were given a " proper " recovery situation, the levering affect would cause them to pull and misalign the front bumper. ( as it is also mounted to crush cans which bolt through the same holes ).

UP,s is an ARB bumper, and looks the dogs nuts !.

They are easily available but over a grand !.

You will have to either cut the bumper, or get a steering guard with built in recovery points.

Or, get a winch bumper

Thanks for all the response, does anyone know a website for usa or australia as ive heard they have a decent range of aftermarket parts for the d2. Any thoughts as to when this country will get into the d2 market as they are getting older and i dont think the d1 has the longevity of the defender or series so they are going to become sparse
