taken all the loose spanners and sockets out of the footwell, must be 250kg lighter now, that should save on fuel , thort about welding the fuel tank, but couldnt get the interest in it so went the pub

Thanks to a bus driver today i've been replacing the disco mirror (now in 15 peices) with this, yes it looks cheap, crap, but at least i can actually see behind me now, in fact the view is so good tomorrow i'm fitting a maching one on the passenger side
Hey, they were free (frrom me garage) and be honist, would you spend money on a disco that stood you in under £200

Went to get some protection put on my P38, but there's none.

If something breaks, it breaks.....

yesterday afternoon and today ive FINALLY spent some time on the disco

drained the excess fluid from the auto box (over a litre, idiotic last owner!!), fitted a 2" lift kit complete with spring retainers and dislocation cones, fitted half of the poly bush kit, and had a bit of a clean out.

tomorrows jobs are get the tyres outta me kitchen and fitted, get the discs and pads done front and rear, fit the braided brake hoses, and change the brake fluid. soon as i get this done i can get the boat finished and all my jobs will be done cant wait to have a few days off and enjoy the fruits of ma labour, aching all over!!

errr i've taken to the local independant as while i was investigating a petrol leak i managed to poke me screw driver through the highly corroded pipe on the top of the chassis rail , on the plus side i did get me steering damper and two u/js fitted , one more and a rubber doughnut to do when the garage has done me petrol pipes .....

Just installed a bucket into the drivers seat as it's pishing down and surprise surprise me sunroof that was sealed only a month ago is now leaking again and dumping water onto the seat exactly as it was before (and my lap when on the move) :doh:

free shower with every disco!! sheet steel, pop rivets, and bathroom sealant - its the way forward :doh:

Brought it home and introduced it to the kids.



My first landie, sure beats driving a mondeo.

Well, after a play in the mud yesterday and getting stuck in the mud halfway up the doors, the radiator was caked in mud, overheated a bit on the way home,(temp gauge only got to the last white line before the red one and I stoped to cool down, is this ok?or likely to caused damage?) had to stop to wash some off, still too much mud, but made it home.

So today I took the headlamps, grille and indicators and washed the radiator..

Duct tape is for aerodynamic stability at speed

Today i'd trying to bleed the dam clutch master after a reseal to cure a weeping rear seal, if it don't get sorted tomorrow the duct tape will come out on that as well :lol:

that's how I killed my head gasket.. although in my case it got to the red.. but only when I stopped and the pipe burst..

today I pondered over it for some time with the in person advice of an expert and then changed the rotor arm, set the plug gaps to something ridiculous like 2mm and managed to get a chug chug for a bit.. so plugs out again - gonna get a bake in the oven in the morning... battery off and on the charger... HT leads labelled with Tipex pen so I can put them back on quick and fingers toes and eyes all crossed for a good clean start tomorrow.
