Put fuel in it. Drove to Spydermans Funeral service which was packed to outside the crem. Beaker, classic Kev and Spitfiremk1uk were all there. Brett had a good send off. Brett will be missed. Herts laners has a Massive hole in it. :-(

Got some new wheels + tyres from Silverline 4x4. Can't fault them, had a small problem with the courier being late, but they were very quick to chase them up and couldn't do enough to help

Chuffed with the look of them, just waiting on my extended arches for legal reasons

They're 16x8 D-mods -32 offset and 285/75R16 Cooper Discoverer STT's if anyones wondering

Actually as long as they tuck into the arches you're ok, my mate looked into this for a hotrod. 40 cm from the lights is your max width!

Put the final coat of paint on my noo chassis and it looks brilliant.

Decided against blue and went for black with grey springs, camera gone kaput so looking for a new one, might get phone with camera on it instead

So mine now are legal? I was sure that if the treads stick out it's not legal? Might be wrong though

If they can tuck into the arches you're fine, if it catches them then you aren't

My mate was looking into this and how hot rods are allowed to run fenderless or with stupid tyres on the rear

Ah right, that makes sense. If I went on an axle twister now it would probably rip the standard arch off

Got some +2" 'Indestructible' ones on the way

it used to be that any part of the tyre that was proud of the bodywork with the wheels in the straight ahead position,then it was illegal to use on a public highway.

is it not? i thought the whole point was to reduce the chance of chucking stones up at the cars behind.

I know about 5 years ago my mk3 astra had the wrong offset wheels that were real wide and stretched and it was only legal due to the tread finishing level with the arch even though the stretched sidewalls and lip of the rim were about an inch outside the bodywork. obviously things change and that might not be the case now. I would at lest get the tread inside the body/arch and so because you don't have any stretch on the tyres it would put the wheel and sidewall in line with the body/arch anyway

All these points make sense. I think I'm better off being safe than sorry. I've heard of people meeting the wrong cop and getting 3 points for each wheel, instant ban basically

Might be made up, but I don't want to take that risk

the reason the wheel/tyre had to be inside the wheel arch was for public safety,ie so no one would get injured if they got caught by a passing car. but things might be different now,me i would not take the chance.
