Get yourself a set of these, even better with the expansion set
Will they work on one of these?

if there is something to grip, I would say yes.
Can you not get an angle grinder on that and cut a slot then use an impact screwdriver on it?

I doubt the irwin would work on that style of head, but might be worth a try.

Personally I would look at using a cold chisel and trying to loosen it that way.

Cheers

I’ve had to do that before , just using the corner of the cold chisel to knock a bolt head around, shame can’t use a set of molegrips on that with having the mushroom style head

Don’t know if using a junior hacksaw to cut a slot and then chisel it round ???

Put the egr valve back on cos it was listed as one of the failures on the mot sheet

Mine has run with a solid aluminium plate between the EGR valve and the flex tube leading to the top boost pipe. No gasses can pass but everything is there and coupled up so it looks like its fully working. I suspect that the broken wire on the temp sensor on top of the head will stop the valve working anyway but the solid gasket does the job.

Or grind the head off, remove the channel and then work on the remains
As I'm expecting to have to destroy this bolt in order to get the frame out to replace the door catch, I'd like to have a replacement bolt before I start, so I'll get a couple of new ones ordered tonight.
