What did you do with your Range Rover today

Today all I've done is send off LPG and V5 info to LPGA to try to get her properly registered as LPG with DVLA.

At the weekend however, I started fitting the axle I got from Irish Rover. That's a fun job!!

As (sort of) expected, as she came apart, the list of requirements grew :rolleyes:

Now waiting for delivery of:
radius arm bushes (axles and chassis ends, as well as nuts and bolts for them!)
two new shocks
antiroll bar drop links
antiroll bar bushes
steering drag link

before I can put it back together and get new tyres (sticking with my 18's but going with grabber AT2s).

Have to confess, I've gone for poly bushes. I know there's a real difference of opinion on here about them, but I don't have easy access to a press and I don't know if the conical squeezy thingy for them is a standard 'thing' if you have a press, or if its a Landy thing, so I'm going for the 'easy' option understanding I will probably have to change them sooner. I've gone for the 'comfort' polybushes. Anyone any experience of those for radius arm - only wanna hear nice things tho, I've already bought them!?

I've burnt out the old bushes, now got to try to drive out the remaining bits of them! Will be p'ing the neighbours off with that tonight :D
hack saw at 12and 6o clock and tap out with chisel ;)
 
The colours do denote something.... but hey I cant remember what, but pink has more additives... and I think its the pink on is the one with the most, the other colours I cant remember

Pink is longer lasting with "organic acid" corrosion inhibitors good for 5 years or so.

Blue is the older type good for 2 years or so.

You shouldn't mix them, flush well before changing.

The pink stuff can damage rubber or plastic parts of older engines. Water pumps, seals, that kind of thing.

Any engine built after 1995 should be okay with the pink stuff. Any engine built before that check first!
 
After falling out with it and not talking to it for a couple of weeks, due to the expansion tank erupting like a geysir, I was cleaning the Volvo in front of it, in a vain attempt to try and make jealous, and start co operating, I walked past it looking the other way and out of the corner of my eye I noticed it, Mount Etna, had thrown its number plate on the floor.
(Or maybe the neighbours little kid pulled it off). I decided to pour some block sealer into her as a quick cheap fix, I also connected the heater back which had been disconnected by the garage about a year and a half ago, due to leaky o rings. started her up and all seems ok. even the heater is blowing heat and not leaking.
Sitting in the driving seat I just fell in like with it again, I really need to find out what the prob is I suspect its the HG, I just need to get the courage up to strip it down.

How much risk on the radius arm when it goes through the bush outer though? just clean up with a wheel if necessary?

The outer is cast iron your know when your through just keep it level cut and keep checking you don't have to go right through just Enough for them to give

Don't think I had the originals in there in the end, the outers virtually fell out (one did in fact!) when knocked with a chisel before cutting and were most definitely plastic!!

Poly's went in even easier

Sounds like you are going to have more than enough torque to feck your new gearbox and chew the diffs to bits:eek:
 
Took it to Sainsbury's.
As I was driving in a girl on a suzuki 750 was pulling out from the Fuel station and dropped the bike. She couldn't pick it up so, I stopped, put on the Hazards and went to help her. A **** in an X5 shouted to me about blocking the driveway so he received a severe round of F**ks which made the biker chuckle.
Can you believe some people, too impatient to wait 30 seconds at the most.
BMW = Bloody Minded ****er's !!!!

Went to get some petrol in my X5 today, but some bloke in a Range Rover had blocked the entrance. Politely asked him to move and he gave me a severe round of F**ks. I think he was just upset though because he'd run over a girl on a motorbike.
 
I was Riding my Suzuki 750 today as I often do maybe a couple of times a week, I like to be known as Daphne when I do, Some guy in an X5 was blocking my exit, so I applied the brakes and lost my balance dropping my bike, A guy in a RR P38 kindly helped me pick it up, then a the guy in the X5 tooted his horn, and the P38 driver through afew F***'s at him in a very manly way, I just giggled..............:rolleyes:

I drove up from the West Country, having diverted through some flood country lanes, the lady in mini in front of me, is probably now drying the cars carpets out! "See" i told my wife "there is untility in the Range Rover, and if I had stayed with the polo I would have got stuck in the West Country" with a smug smile on my face.
 
bit the bullet and fitted a new eas compressor - island 4x4 £288 ,makes a real difference now only takes about 4 secs to raise up to off road height and is virtually silent didn't notice how loud the other one was til it was gone.
