have you seen the fooking ugly fooking pig of a motor in lr monthly?

a disco chassis with a gaylander shell on it.

if that wasnt bad enough they go and paint it blue and bright yellow..

it looks fookin awfull

I quite fancy a D-lander but they is a disco + space frame and a Lightweight GRP gaylander type bodyshell. bit like a bowler or tomcat.

It even has a multicoloured snorkel tube. What on earth were they thinking? Check out the gap between the sump and the bottom of the bumper.

thats the one..is it **** i fink so..least they could have put some fookin hooge tyres on it to fill out the arches a bit,look how high the bumper is and then how low the steering guard is seems pointless

It does look like crap at the moment, but I think with some decent sized wheels and a respray it would look OK.

The bloke built it because he had a gaylander with a knackered engine, and a disco with rusted sills and boot floor. I suppose it's better than scrapping them both?

I know LR owners are traditionalist bunch, and would rather not have the status quo disturbed, but F**k It you gonna break the mould now and then and see what pops out. If it wasn't for a few of us having off the wall ideas now and then we wouldn't have the Bowlers, Tomcats, and traybacks around now.

Apparently it was tearing up the plains, and pulling out stuck un's when the guy who wrote the article first saw it.

Well, the 'BumbleBee' look is a fail, but the theory is a good one! Looks capable (not to mention comfy! ) I'd like a play in that!(after a respray! )
