Well got engine and it start but wont tick over!!! Advice please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, Well it took forever, weather didnt help , stripped thread on gearbox Radiator, made coupling at work, and other jobs got in the way!!!!!!! The problem is that it starts, but i have to keep dipping the accelarator to keep it going, if i leave the pedal the revs just fall away and stops. On re-starting i have to pump the pedal for it get going again. Advice please im so close!!!!!!!! Colin

Hi, I thought this would be self bleeding, did a head-gasket on old engine and didnt need to bleed, How do i bleed it!!!!!!!!!!!

I was assuming it was diesel Colin but I'm now guessing it's petrol in which case you won't need to.

is it classic efi ,if so check listen for stepper motor opening on rear of plenum its only way for air to get in at throttle closed position

Hi, Just pressed valve on petrol rail sprayed all-over me!!!!!!!!!! Still messing with it and got ticking-over at 750 rpm but its wobbling up and down, what should it tick-over at.

Hi, Thanks for your help!!!!!!!! Its a P38 4.0 litre, i can hear ticking noise, righthand side at bulkhead end!!!!!!!!!!!!!Still ticking over but not stable, should tick-over on the button, yer!!, but what rpm.....dashing in and out so thanks for help!!!!! colin

you dont bleed petrol efi fuel is in continous loop going back to tank

Morning Colin......Should be around 725-750.
Check that all sensor connectors are on correctly. Also check all intake and breather hoses are good. If you have the Gems engine software on your Rovacomlite, reset the Adaptive Learn (In "Other" section). Are the plug leads located correctly ?
