Howdy doo!!
I have recently learned on here that my beloved Haines manuals have been lying to me for years!! So just like busters bus! I will show step by step instructions on "how too"
So the first on the list is" how to remove the wing mirror off a disco"
Step 1
You need quite a sturdy crow bar. Screw drivers just arnt adequate for this job..
Insert the crow bar as shown in fig 1.a
this seemed to loosen it but I tried from a different angle . Fig1.b
the stubborn thing refused to move, so I decided a few gentle chaps with a hammer might get it on its way!!
Using precise blows to the top being careful not to break the glass. FIg1.c
this gave me slight separation... it shows how well built these discos are...
Anyhoo.. the housing has slightly separated from the car which means I can get the reciperakaty saw thing in..
If you don't have one of these a hacksaw will be ok!! Just it will Tek ages.. fig1.d
when you get to this stage fig1.e it's advisable to have a pen and paper so you can write down what wires gan where!!! Fig1.e
this is how it should look after the job is complete!
Refitting is nothing like removal .. you will need duct tape and electricians tape!!
Come back next week for tips on windscreen removal
