Hi, I am new to all of this having recently purchased a Discovery which needs a bit of work. Currently concerned about a water leak from the engine above the drainer plug anyone any suggestions??

Thanks

Do you mean the drain plug for the engine block, which at the front of the engine, below the manifolds?
If so then I would guess its the P gasket, look at the sticky post at the top of this section

Thanks Richard, not sure that would resolve it. On the first picture there is a disc in the centre of the picture above the drainer plug, the water appears to be coming from there?

Not to much of a bugger, just get a blunt punch on one side of the core plug, **** it hard with a hammer so that the core plug spins round, pair of pliers to pull it out, get the new plug and put some sealant on the outside, then get a socket that fits perfectly into the new core plug, clean the insides of the core hole on the block, then **** it in with hammer untill flush :) refill, bleed then get a nice cold beer and then realise you forgot to move your tools and fish them out of the engine bay. Magic :)
