Wanting 02 to 06 plate RR, diesel or petrol?

Will soon be looking to buy a RR between 02 and 06 plate (Not sure of the model number, anyone?) and undecided between diesel or petrol, dont do too many miles, and the 4.4 seems to be a couple of thousand piounds cheaper than a similar diesel, other than the obvious running costs and performance, is there much between the 2, reliability wise etc?

Whats people views on LPG conversions, good or bad?

Thanks gav, what will a decent conversion cost me from a good installer roughly? im guessing the tank will replace spare wheel well in boot, or does it take up space in the boot?

But I think both engines are pretty much ok

Unless they have fixed the slipped liners problem on the newer ones, go for diesel

yes and the gear box problem. try and get after 05 early ones are as bad or even worse that p38

How many miles is not many miles? Like you say if its not many then the saving from buying the V8 would overcome extra fuel costs.

The V8 is a BMW or Jaguar lump so won't have liner prob like P38s, although not to say they don't have any problems...

I drove a V8 Rangey on the weekend, and it reminded me what power and noise I am missing with my diesel, except more frequent trips to the filling station that is.
