Hi guys and girls.

A quick question about viscous fans. Yes I did a search, and more confused than beforehand..

I have a V8 3.9. Do I turn the nut clockwise or anti clockwise to remove. (as stood in front of car looking into engine bay)

Also there are various comments about removing fan and using kenlowes or the air con fans. Does this work? I have two sets of aircon fans could these be used for cooling? Or just go for the kenlowe?

Thanks in advance

The aircon fans work fine on a diesel, not sure about the V8 though. I can find you a part number for a suitable stat if you want.
To undo the fan look at the angle of the blades or watch which way it turns, it undoes in the same direction.

change viscous give a better more even cooling which is good for v8s ,fan undoes anticlockwise if serpentine belt anticlockwise if older single v belt

Nut undoes anticlockwise and a kenlow is the way to go.Fitted one to my p38 2.5 dse and its great, get better fuel consumption engine runs better and you can control the cut in temp(out here its set to come in quicker as it gets hotter quicker as outside temps are always higher here than in uk)and real simple to fit and good value for money and their customer service is the best i have come across in all the companys i deal with, land rover or non land rover.
