Hi folks,

having been the previous onwer of a very nice rangerover and now a very 'nice' freelander, I am yearning to get a real one oand go Off Road.

I see a couple of options. Dedicated off roader, not road legal or road legal and a little more sensible.

Advice would be appreciated I am particularly interested in insurance issues.

Get insured with a proper insurance company, NFU or Adrian Flux, I'm only 20 and my insurance doesnt change no matter how many offroad mods I have.

so if you put a 6.2l engine and a 8" lift on and had an accident do you really think they'd pay out when it started life as a standard sensible disco

I'm with NFU too. I can add anything I like as long as it doesn't enhance the engine performance. If I fit a winch, snorkel lift kit etc there are no probs. If I fit a K and N, ecu remap, uprated intercooler etc then it will effect my premium.
