Hi Folks ,

Purchased a Headlight from a breakers , now it’s arrived , light is clean , the only problem I found is that the plastic plate that sits on top of the headlight & is held together with 2 X Philips screws, these are rounded and and the plate is very insecure.

Its previous owner has obviously attempted to remove these screws and failed miserably. Now my question is how can I get these screws out with out damaging the light & I'm assuming I need this plate in place for it to be able to secure the headlight to the slam panel.

In two minds to contact the seller as am not happy with the item and the condition of the plate, but at the same time not wanting to fall out with them as they have been helpful over the years.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

TIA

Use a Dremel or similar?? And square the screw heads! Where your able to get mole grips to bite, to turn the heads??

If above fails! use extractors!! Squaring the heads! Allows small extractor to remove it/them👍

You may pull the inserts out of the headlamp, if the plate is good, I would fill the hole and recess with something which will hold it secure.

If you need to remove, may need to drill everything out. then possibly reglue the inserts back. Just remember the headlamps could shatter.
