VIN Help

Forgive my retardedness,

I'm looking at replacing my rear brakes on a 96 defender,

Only to find it changes depending on your VIN number,

Looking at my VIN has only confused me further,

Any ideas on what I should be looking for ?

at the end of vin is 6 digit number ,just before is 2 letters denoting age ie ma=95 ta=96 etc
90 or 110?

97 what def 90 or 110 ?

Defender 90,

V5 says its 97,

but going though old dealer papers it says its a 96,

age built and age registered can differ, rear brake discs are ftc1381 pads stc1276
