Hi Folks,

Had my freelander td4 BMW engine mot today, passed on all accounts but was very slow to start when leaving the test centre. The engine was very hot at this stage following the emissions and rev test. By very slow I mean when I turn ignition key once and hold for engine to start, the engine turns over trying to start for about 10 engine starting sounds (as opposed to normal start at 2-3 'chuck' sounds).

I've tried everything already proposed to be done at a number of garages including:

Replace diesel filter, oil change, oil filter, air filter, egr valve clean, and cam sensor.

I've diagnosed it using standard obd2 connector to laptop and all appears fine although the software I'm using wont give a fuel pressure reading.

What's left to try?

I did notice after changing the cam sensor that a noise came from behind glove compartment (front passenger side). It's fine now but may be symptom of pumping problem within the engine?

Cheers,

Anthony

I'd rather you reserved jokes for the pub mate; if you've nothing helpful to add stop disrupting this genuine thread with spam.
