Well with the support you get from fellow members probably... You see where I come from if someone thought what you were doing was wrong or misinterpreted they'd ring or PM you, not ruin you thread...

Actually I came here by recommendation and I have two projects I wanted to post so folk could follow their progress. There is a lot of activity compared to other forums and I've been advised a great support network to assist you when you need it.

I am selling some stuff to support my other builds and if you look around the forum I have been trying to get involved in various threads where I can.

So simply, no I didn't plan to be 'off when I flogged my tat' - interesting choice of words considering that tat is what's under your arse every time you step into your Landy...
Ringer tat too?

typical noob response when they cant think of a reply..

you have simply moved the goalposts tho by selling yr chassis with log book
because you said you were gonna sell the 2 separate and grind of the id on the chassis how dodgy do u think that would have looked to a potential buyer?

No, I have a life beyond forums... 13,000 posts, hmm...

You all get very excited on here and love putting words into people's mouths and twist things. This is great fun. I'm enjoying this.

Lads, I've been doing land rovers for as long as I can remember, I know what I can and can't do. Now toddle on and go do something constructive.

I've been looking at posts and its the usual suspects picking on newbies across the entire forum, whether for not introducing themselves or you just think they're stupid. So if I had 2,000+ posts I'd say it'd be different... Jackass'

Now I must go as I have a land rover to build...

You guys need to chill out, stop twisting things, set down your keyboard - come across to Ireland, talk Land Rovers and sink a few pints of the black stuff ;-)

Ringer. Goggle it once youve finnished being self righteous

Watch what you're saying chum... That is a serious accusation which is completely untrue

Simple I have not offered a logbook on its own. I have sold a chassis with book. I offered a chassis without book. If I wish to notify dva the vehicle no longer exists I can do so.

If you had a problem phone me and discuss. The numbers is at the top.

Finished has one 'n' btw

Do you think i care?

Made me point. No phone sex for you.

Summit tells me that driving around in a vehicle that has had the chassis number ground off would be a sure fire way to get it seized. If you grind the chassis number off it will still show up with acid etch technology and then alarm bells would start ringing that 2 vehicles are running around with the same chassis. How do I know? Cos I pick up and often have to identify stolen vehicles.

Would you buy a vehicle with Id numbers ground off?

could you please answer this question please ,

you have a LR the chassis has seen better days ,

the chassis you buy is 2nd hand, the seller has replaced his with a new one , how do you stand now ?.

name and address of seller and signed reciept and then contact vosa and they will come and look and restamp chassis with your old number from your v5 me thinks:)

thank you Ratty , i thought it would be along those lines or something very similar , and as you say only change it as a last resort . but if the fella who "started" this thread was to build a LR from the ground up using only HIS I.D. as a start point would that vehicle not be subject to a I.V.A. ? , as it is not the vehicle that left the factory ?.

Yes it would, it will have to do that in due course with another project.

The only reason I would have considered removing a chassis number (like many for sale detailing no id) was to ensure nobody could try to run around with MY id. I, of course, could provide a receipt, address, licence number etc...

I have a further chassis which would be perfectly serviceable with repair but its not good enough for me. It's not past it by any stretch. So what do I do?

I would be keen to know from others apart from my new mates on this thread suggesting I'm ringing vehicles (wtf?), whether fundamentally I have done anything wrong here provided the buyer is aware...
