if im buying a vehicle and selling again in short space of time am i ok filling the logbook in as a trader? been told different things, one person has said that anyone can do this, but someone else has said he thinks i'd have to be a registered business and the tax man would b looking into things.
cant find much on this by googling it

it's the seller that fills in the V5 now and any seller that doesn't is a lunatic as they are responsible for any tax / sorn / speeding / parking issues with the vehicle until they do.. I presume you are trying to reduce the number of keepers... don't see the point any more myself, any more than one owner and you haven't got a history from new but if it still makes a real difference to the value or saleability then call the lovely people in Swansea...

was interested cos bought a bike cheap and selling asap. prob wont of got logbook back in my name by then, thats y people use the trade part. just i wudnt want the taxman after sum of my profit. does the dvla share details about trade buyers with the taxman?

Probably but they'll only bother with people moving a lot of vehicles. The odd one will go unnoticed.
