DEFENDER 90 PICKUP

Hi all,

Selling my pick up as my new job requires motorway travelling so have bought something more suitable and don't have space for two vehicles.

Bought it in 2022 as a retirement (from the armed forces) toy and has been used as my daily for the past 18mths
It has had the timing belt changed when I bought it (Land Ranger in Atherton, landy specialists) and had them replace the 'P' Gasket and replace the hoses etc whilst it was with them, I have serviced it my self with new filters/oil/grease etc approx every 6 months.
it needed a new brake bias valve so that's been fitted its had the doors replaced with series style galvanised from SP4x4
I have lanoguarded the galvanised chassis inside and out and sealed all the underside of the body with black tar paint and the footwells.
The usual rust spots under the windscreen have been drilled and sprayed to help prevent any corrosion happening and new door seals have also been fitted.
The G/box was replaced in 2005 and it had a Richards Chassis and 2" lift both done by the previous owner in approx 2014 all of the relevant paperwork for this is in the file of documents which goes back to approx 2005/06. Complete with 3 keys and 2 fobs for the Viper immobiliser.
it has done 191541mls and apart from the above minor issues mentioned has never missed a beat, starts first time even when cold and is a great, fairly standard vehicle
It currently has a middle seat fitted but comes with the cubby box as well as a spare alternator and PAS pump and a few other bits and bobs, good tyres all round with a spare in the back.

MOT is due Aug but I'm happy to put it through so it will have a full ticket.

30yrs old so its got a few bumps and bruises but its a great little truck and I'm sorry to see it go.

Never been off roaded by me and whilst it has a tow bar fitted I've never had a need to use it

Not sure if the price is in the right ballpark but its hard to gauge the market ATM.

That Landy place in Atherton is a great garage and very friendly and no to pricey. Used them myself when i had my P38.

Landranger are very good and dont try and rip you off.

Prices have fallen sadly, l was looking at a lovely 2011 Puma X S Station Wagon today for sale at £10,500
Mileage was 150,000 and l think that kills the value on the Puma

If you want to sell it, then Ebay is probably your best choice, I would hazard a guess that FB is full of even more idiots.
Unfortunately a truck cab 90 is probably low down on the desirable side of things.
I bought my Td5 90 SW in the height of stupid prices and it was only a couple of hundred more.
Put it on Ebay for your price, if doesn't sell you know its to much.

Just a quick update, still available and just had its MOT done for the next 12 mths, has had new pads and discs on the rear as well as a new caliper and had to replace the ball joint off the steering box.

have you considered keeping it and just using it for the motorway mileage? My tdi 110 has done 30ish thousand miles a year for the last 4 years with work, change of role has now dropped the milage down to high teens but I would happily drive up and down the motorway in it. Far better option than having a modern plastic car!
