upgrading a defenders sound system

need to upgrade the sound system on my defender, land rover seem to think my knees have ears.
want to put a sub, amp and a few 6x9s in her, but not sure where they can go.
got 4 seats in the back so not a huge amount of options.

anyone done anything similar?

i just upgraded me head unit got a good mp3/ipod alpine unit job done

All IMHO opinion of course but I'd say forget the bass box. It is just going to get in the way. Perhaps putting new speakers in boxes would aid in mounting them where you want?

I put some meaty 6x9s in a wooden speaker box i made in the top corners at the back and they sound excellent - it's like being in the albert hall (only a bit colder and windier!)(oh and less comfortable)(oh and cheaper)(etc)

you can get them plastic mouldings to go by back door off ebay.they look cool but a bit dear
