Unknown box - what does it do? RR Classic

Hi - I've just started looking at taking my classic off road - nothing serious yet as I'm going to have to remove a few bits first. However there is a box at the back end on the right hand side - just behind the rear wheel. I have got air suspension and not sure if it has anything to do with it?

The question is - what is it and can i remove it? I've tried to find a haynes manual but they don't seem to make one for a '94 vogue LSE! BTW its on LPG if this might have something to do with it?

In which case - thats the weekends job!!!! I took it over a pretend off road track - a bit bumpy - and already bumped the tow bar so i guess that needs to come off too! Any other suggestions about other stuff to remove? Cheers!!!

first impressions, going off the shape, is it a spare battery tray (DIY) and wires/cables running from it??? pipes??? pop it and see if anything ****es out, needs to be gone that mate

move yer bobble up three holes, that'l give yer a few extra inches!

You'll find out what to remove as you go along.
My mate was going to take off the valence on his Disco front bumper, but one of the big holes at Matchams did it for him!!

Dont suppose your box was used for hiding contraband?

Crackin' advice - thanks! as for the contraband - maybe it's worth keeping.....!!

Don't rush to take your tow bar off, it can help prtect the tank.
On second thoughts, looking at the piccies, is the tank still there, and what's holding your tow bar on, there looks like a marked lack of upper bolts!

Is there a hole in the boot floor leading into that box or a plate screwed over it or anything? That seems rather weird - I've not seen it before!

Is it a smaller petrol tank, with the LPG tanks mounted where the main fuel tank used to be? Although can't see the LPG tanks on the pics.

Either way, that is fugly!

You might be right on the petrol tank idea - I've just had another look - I have an LPG tank in the boot, but there is a second (i'm guessing donut tank) under the boot. I still have a petrol tank somewhere - so maybe this is it? Guess i need to keep it then! (and not bounce it off the ground!)
