Hi

I'm trying to follow Bustersbus's instructions for UJ replacement ( cheers Buster ). However my attempts to extract the circlips have been a disaster. So far I have broken 2 pairs of pliers and 1 screwdriver and I have a small pile of broken pieces of circlip. I read elsewhere that such a thing exists as circlip pliers ( which I obviously don't have ). Is there a technique or alternative to the special pliers that might get me by ?

Cheers

Dave

i broke 3 sets of cheapo circlip pilers doing my ujs.Get the halfords professional ones and get em replaced for free if they break.

Cheers. I thought as much.

Are the circlip pliers useful for inserting the circlips as well ?

Thanks

I just done mine. Nip into screwfix. Really good set of 4 circlip pliers in a pouch thing to keep um safe for about a tenner

Thanks everyone. Only problem I have is that I'm in the mountains of southern Spain. Nipping into Screwfix could be a bit tricky :D

Cheers

Dave

Also pay attention that there is 2 types of circlip pliers...

one open the circlip and the other closes
I have both types in my garage as motorcycle exhaust manufacturers probably couldnt get to an agreement so depending on exhaust brand, the circlip that holds the baffles in, are different types
