hey guys,
I have a freelander 1 and would like to put decent off road tyres on it. I spend time on diet track roads and fields, I also tow near to the max but not hugely often...
Now, I have just discovered standard fit discover 1 wheels (and tyres 265/75/16) that look good at a reasonable price, would they fit straight on the vehicle?
My second question is on the original/standard alloy wheels which have tyres sized 195/80R15 on them just now. What decent off/on road tyres should I replace them with and can I change the profile at all??
Very many thanks in advance!!
Derek

I'm sure the stud pattern on Disco is different.

For tyres, there are loads of threads and everyone will recommend a different make/pattern. Have a search and you will discover.

Re sizes - if you have a size you are thinking about - put it in the search box and search within Freelander forum (eg "215/75") - it comes back with discussions on that size.

Discovery wheels don t fit the FL1 as the PCD is completely different. The Freelander uses the Honda 5 X 114.3mm stud pattern. A
265/75/16 wouldn't fit even on the correct wheels as there's not enough room in the arches.
A reasonable width limit of 225 is about the maximum, without spacers. And a total diameter if under 29" is a practical maximum.
So a 225/75/15 is the practical max on a 15" rim.
I run 17" rims fitted with 225/60/17 Maxxis AT tyres.
