how much do you guys reacon it'll cost to repair O/S inner wing and battery tray on my disco

my welder charges £25 an hour?

After spending 2 months welding loads of rust on my disco and doing the inner wings, if I had to do it again, I would charge 300quid! lol

it cost me £40 for secondhand mig welder and £10 for sheet steel. i needed to do the inner wings on my vauxhall few years ago, with no experience at all. was good enough for mot. after a bit of practise my disco wings look quite good.

reckon £150 is a fair price for a decent job. i would expect £200 for a job like the one ive just done on mine.

As for you discoboy, i reckon your best bet is to pick up a mig and get a new inner wing/battery tray panel - i got mine from YRM metal solutions on ebay, pretty cheap ( £60 ish) for both wings and went in with minimal trimming, only had to learn to puddle weld as well (yay !!)

i have a MIG (gasless crap) need some pratice and yes YRM is looking like the place for a whole inner wing, i need a battery tray too though

Hi vivnap, you've done some real quality work on that Disco, especially the front end battery tray area, very nice indeed. You must be pleased with that?

yea im pleased with it but if i was doing it inside a workshop i could have made a lot better job of it. i wont have a workshop untill later on next year when i get it built :)

working out doors isnt the ideal way to do repair work cos the british weather just isnt on your side :)
