Evening all,
The first inch of the accelerator pedal is very on/off, making it difficult to maintain a smooth speed at low revs When releasing the the accelerator pedal, there is a brief pause before the car suddenly decelerates. On tickover, the engine pulses every half second or so. It's not a bad 'misfire' but it's noticeable. OccasionalIy the revs will momentarily cut out at around 3,500 revs under hard acceleration.
I went to a mechanic who also owns a D2 TD5. On his generic diagnostics, it brought up 160 CAN and 180 CAN, which he said he'd never seen before. He cleaned out a gunked up vac pipe to the turbo and that seemed to cure the problem until I took the ECU out to clean the plug (after having changed the harness). Now I'm back to square one, it's doing it all again.
Does anyone know what this may be? Many thanks.
