Hi, I've just had my Range Rover Vogue 2001 serviced and MOT'd less than a month ago.
I've had no problems starting her at all - went out on Saturday morning (started fine) stopped for a spot of lunch then couldn't start her up again. She turns over fine but just doesn't fire? The AA guy wasn't much help, just towed me home in the end.
Does anyone know what might be the problem and also does anyone know a decent mechanic in East London?
Cheers,
Dom

Hi Dom, I had a very similar problem to this, spill pipes and heater plugs replaced, engine running well, left over a weekend then engine cranking over and no fuel to injectors. It turned out to need a new battery as the voltage was low and dropped when cranking and upset the engine ECM/ immobiliser. This was reset on the computer by Aylmer Motors an independent at Bell Bar just up the A 1000 through Potters Bar. They did this very quickly, plus got the doorlock switch on the drivers door working to re program the key code to the reset alarm. I've done 1600 miles since and had no further trouble with the electrics. Another very good independent, is AJD land rovers at Dobbs Weir, Hoddesdon, Essex, next to the touring caravan site. I can reccomend these two independent LR specialists.

What I forgot to add was that while the battery was low, I did get some odd messages on the dash and eventually, engine disabled, after alternator fault, doors not set, max 35 mph etc. but these are all clear now.
