Well, search aint any good atm, so i have to ask for a reminder:

Took me intercooler out, and me inlet manifold, replaced the pipes and de-gunged the metal bits. Now it whistles. What does that mean again? Should i have got a new gasket to replace the manifold one, it did look abit frail.

Cheers all

a turbo whistle is normally a good sign..

its when it sounds like a waste disposal unit that its fooked :)

however if you belive that its sucking in air anywhere then spray some wd40 around the hoses/joints and intercooler..

if it is you will hear a noticible increase in the engine's idel rev's/tick over.

If you ain't got a rev counter the whistle is a good way to judge when the turbo is doing it's work and giving you the boost you so desire.

we do, its just a tad dodgy (mind of its own, if not extinct for long periods of time!) It seems to be doin the trick anyway! so does the nice cleaner engine, makes me happier anyway!
