Hello people, I have seen advertised thes small boxes from a company called tunit which plug into the engine electronics which claim to increse bhp, torque and even fuel economy without compromise to the function and running of the engine, i was thinking of adding one to my defender 90 300tdi to gain better economy and the slight increase in power output, Does anyone have any experience of fitting anything like this to a landy, do they make any real differnce?

Regards,

Oliver

Hi. What pikey means is no, you won't be able to get one for your 300 (unless it has a 300 out of an auto disco in it) as they don't have any engine electrickery to twiddle. The 300 vaguely chucks a bit of fuel in the direction of the engine, which burns it if it feels like it, and makes all but the red ones go up hills, i think the last of the 300 disco autos had some kind of electric management which you might get something for but not really worth it.

There are some other things that can get you a bit more power out of the 300 though.

i had the tunit box on my t4 transporter and it took the bhp from 102 to 137 confirmed on a rollin road and it went like **** of a stick but if you turned the box up to far it would smoke like buggery, dont know if you can get em for the 300,you would probably get better results fitting a larger intercooler, silicone hoses, and tweaking the fuel pump.
