Trying to fit rock/tree sliders Help needed!

Bought a set of sliders at Peterborough. Rushed home and desperate to fit them so I took off the nut on the offside then tried to take the one off the nearside. I may be wrong but I think the nut and bolt on the nearside has been put on the wrong way round!
This means that I can't fit the sliders until (I think!) the bolt has been completely removed and put on the right way round.
Trouble is as this bolt is on the chassis I (think) will have to jack the vehicle up!
I don't have the tools for this and will have to take it into a garage but wanted to check I'm doing it right in the first place!!

Surely it's cheaper to nip down to Halfrauds, buy a set of spanners and can of WD40, it's no big deal to jack the vehicle up

sounds like u r right, removing the bulkhead bolt is easy, get hold of someone with a high lift jack, support the bulkhead (just) by placing toe of jack under bottom hinge where it bolts to bulkhead,
wind nut to end and tap bolt back with hammer (leaving nut on end will protect thread)

swop bolt round... job done

Got spanners, got wd40, haven't got a jack or a clue how to use one (can I blame this on being a girlie?)

Lol I thought the same thing about the jack, but the hydraulic one would be better as the tall one won't be any good if we manage to fit the rock sliders 😉

One tip with the high lift, Keep fingers well out of the way!

Or use a normal jack with some timber chocks.

If you've not used a hi lift jack before, don't! they're bloody dangerous things if not used for their intended purpose of vehicle recovery. Not the sort of thing you would use to get under the vehicle

. A 2 tonne trolley can be bought for £20-£30, don't forget to use axle stands and chock the wheels not being lifted (otherwise there's a chance of the vehicle rolling). Good luck, I'm sure you can do it

Long Lawford , not far from Daventry. I managed to get one on but ended up having to angle grind a bit if the chassis. I'm not convinced I will manage the other side because I will have to remove the nut and bolt completely as some numb nuts put it on back to front. 😖
