Transmission swap....

Spring is coming...

I have a nice low mileage '04 D2 Premium automatic (with CDL)
and an '02 D2 manual (with ecu remap, bigger intercooler, nicer turbo etc)
both running ok.

I don't enjoy driving the automatic (!!) - I have tried - honest

Would it be viable to swap the auto for the manual gearboxes between the two?
(I presume this means swapping the ecu and some wiring too)

If I asked a competent garage to do this how much would it likely cost?

What downsides might there be with the V5 etc (insurance will obviously go up)?

I've seen people go manual to auto but not the other way...

Is there a blank where the clutch pedal can be fitted? you'll need clutch master, slave, clutch switch, centre console & trim.

BCU will need setting to manual.

Is the 02 engine EU2? IF so it might have an MSB ecu that won't run the EU3 engine in the 04...

I'm sure there's more...
