Hi, I have a D2 1999 TD5 Automatic I need to replace the transmission controller I have found one nearby but the part numbers are different however the descriptions shows they are for the same vehicle/engine etc.

Do the part numbers matter or is this a case of maybe a slightly newer unit to the one I have?

Reason for replacing is M & S lights are flashing, vehicles locked in what seems 3rd gear I guess limp mode and the vehicle cut out earlier on a test drive after fault finding other bits. Removed the transmission controller after some investigating and it showed signs of extensive water ingress which makes sense as we were stuck in a rather large body of water.

Hi. Part numbers can be superseded while the unit to work the same, important is to be from a pre-facelift Td5, the following p/n should be OK for you: UHC100250, IGG100010, IGG000060

Hi Sierrafery, the part number of the one that's 5 miles away is LRIGG000040, I'm assuming this wouldn't be suitable after seeing the ones you've stated above? Quite close to the last code you mentioned.
