Ok, in the past 2 weeks, I seem to have developed some transmission issues, as I keep breaking things.
First it was the front uj on the front prop, a few days later it was the rubber donut, taking with it the prop by gouging out the prop flange with the donut bolts, then friday I noticed my front passenger wheel was slanted, checked it and the top swivel bearing seems to have gone.

Am I just being unlucky at the moment with it, or could there be something causing all this to go all at the same time, and is anything else likely to go with it?

Also, as Im having to replace the bearings, will I need to replace the swivel pins with them, as Ive seen the bearing kits with and without the pins, and usually just having the top pin in it if it has any.

Getting a bit sick right now, but wouldnt change her for the world.

unless its abs you should never need to change pins at all ,bottom pin doesnt need removing to strip down housing or change bearings ,300 tdi is getting old now so not surprising how often to you change oils grease or check running gear apart from that are you driving in diff lock jacking one front wheel up and turning wheel proves its not

No, not ABS, just bog standard 300tdi :)
Yes driving in diff lock at the mo, but not huge distances, just in town for shopping etc, then obviously stopped when I realised the wheel was leaning.

ah, thought you meant about driving in diff lock whilst only got one prop on. Wasn't driving in diff lock beforehand, not even when off road most of the time.

not to worry. once you have changed 90% of the parts it will be

Sounds to me like you need to spend a day just fettling (servicing) the running gear.

Wheels off, hubs off, clean, grease and re-set wheel bearings. Change all fluids, 'specially diffs, transfer box. Check all UJ's, diff backlash, swivels, oils, CV's and grease, steering rods, and all track rod ends for movement, grease 'em if they have a nipple .. indeed anything, including props, with a nipple probably needs a good few squirts.

Check all Bushes and links, front radius and rear trailing arms, A-frame, suspension. Look for cracks in the rubber etc and replace as necessary, oem is good if more difficult to do than polybushes.

It's my experience that if a couple of things go in quick succession, there are more just ready and waiting to go .. a good servicing regime helps, not suggesting you don't but ... ;)
