Freelander just failed its MoT on one thing.

Nearside rear Trailing arm rubber bush deteriorated resulting in excessive movement.

Just phoned my local LR dealer Guy Salmon at Maidstone and the parts guy said it probably means RGX101000 Bush trailing link. He said its not a part they stock because they dont usually go!

I havent ordered it yet because if its the wrong part then they dont refund.

Any advice on fitting these is greatly appreciated.

Cheers all

A quick look at Powerflex's webpage lists two trailing arm bushes, one going to the hub & one to the chassis. You'll need to find out which one of yours has failed.

Powerflex

Also if fitting yourself, polybushes are generally much easier to fit once you've got your old bush out but you'd really have to do both sides to keep things equal & use lots of copperease during assembly to avoid annoying creaking sounds every time you go over bumps.

Going into the chassis please see picture.

Thanks

Sorry didnt make myself clear its the rear trailing link arm to hub. As shown it the picture above.

Ive spoke to LR main dealer and theyve quoted me £370 to change one arm! They said the job can be difficult as the bolt thru the bush is prone to seizing on!

Job dont look to difficult just wanted to know if any others have had experience of changing these. Will I need to press the bushes out? I plan to change both sides.

Also been looking at the powerflex bushes, would they be a better part than the LR one?

thanks all

Buster bus link at the top will guide you through just about all your repairs you need to do. If you can read then you can do it. good luck:D:D
report back when you are done. ok

I think my passenger side rear trailing link arm to hub bush is going as well since have a nasty noise on sharp right hand turns from that area and it's the only thing with movement in the joint when I had a shake of things under there.
