Hiya guys its been a while.. was just wondering if anyone in the friendly loving freelander community has ever done any serious towing in just two wheel drive mode with the pop off?

:D:confused2:

It's possible but how serious? My last Hippo was in 2WD mode and it did suffer from lots of wheel spin on wet or sloppy surfaces.

I'd be more concerned about towing onto the field and off it again if your rallying or temporary site camping. Hard standing or nice climates would make that more of a trivial issue though.

Towing on the road shouldnt be to much difference except when pulling off, i wouldnt have though

do you think the drive train would cope? I do have a motor mover for positioning so reversing and stuff shouldnt be too bad

Wen mine were in mondo traction control wunt let wheels slip ne'er mind spin.
Did yours have TC Angeloc?

I have towed a 1500kg 'van several times in mondo mode. Drive train is up to it and copes as good as any other FWD vehicle.
