nope the auto box is completely separate to the tranfer box, the park position on the auto box engages the pawl to lock the main box, putting the transfer lever in neutral will disengage the transfer box from main 'box meaning while the props can spin freely the autobox will be locked
sorry just read the OP
just burn it if its a gay38 i thought it was a proper rangerover
when you own a range rover you are bound to need towing , think I best buy another lancruiser for this purpose roflolDude i dont think your on the same page.....
Are you taking about a RR?
Theres only one lever on mine and it operates both the hi and low gears set out in a figure of four.
Cheers for the info prius! Iv never thought about what to do if i needed towing![]()
might go down to collect it in my prius drag it up the road a few yards and phone the AA
do you think they might suspect something when they find the range rover heads in the boot lol
I am planning to tow it with one of my other range rovers but the only one I have on gas has no two bar,so it will have to be a 4.6 petrol one to tow it back with
I'm beginning to think that the 160 mile round trip will cost me more in fuel than sending in a private recovery truck to collect it

Do you even have a Range Rover? If not stop sticking your nose in!
sorry i was on about 99% of proper landrover transfer boxes this won't apply if you have one of those p38 things (spit)
on a proper landy you have in the forward left position LO diff, forward right LO, rear left HI diff, rear right HI, in the middle position of the right hand side (halfway between HI and LO is a neutral position (or has been on every defender, RRC (apart from the viscous centre diff ones) and discovery i have ever driven and i have driven a few!
