there are fewer 4.4 v8s.
just buy the best one you can find.
I got my 4.4 by accident.
still love the p38

4.4 on LPG returns around 15.4mpg as a good average, which is abour 22p per mile....

Love mine to bits, despite the:
Radiator replacement
Thermostat replacement
Waterpump replacement
Brakes all round
Gearbox Oil and Filter change
Fuel Pump replacement
4x New Tyres
ABS ECU
ABS Short Harness
2x ABS Sensors
EAS Height Recalibration
and
The 420 mile round trip to get one fecking wheel nut off (long story - search for it)

Get your own diagnostics device and you can't go wrong!!

The wife is going to be using this around town was hoping to end up with something that could achieve around 20 round town. Is that possible with LPG diesel or remapping. ?
Whatever we get I want to keep it a while so don't want to be hasty. If I have to save a few extra quid to buy a slightly better option then maybe that's the way. Just appreciate all your feedback as existing owners of various models

Save a few quid and go for a TDV8....

More gutsy than the TD6, more frugal than the TD6 and a much stronger gearbox....

The petrol V8's are sublime, but you pay for it at the pumps even on LPG if you are town and towing mostly.

I do a good mix of M/Ways Town and Country and I get 15.4mpg average...no towing mind which would kill the MPG figures.

Also more complicated, much more expensive to fix and looking at some accounts, the V8 diesel is far from bullet proof.
